Notes

Morocco born and Paris based artist, Alexandre Marciano, makes raw, atmospheric work that is as much about the meditative practice of making them, as the final outcome.

"My painting is often the territory on which freedom and control oppose and contrast each other to build a small world that never represents reality, but is largely inspired by it."

Alexandre is inspired by light of JMW Turner, the gestural freedom of Cy Twombly and the lyrical abstraction of Zao Wou-Ki

For Alexandre an important part of the final result is the actual process of painting, "What matters to me more is the meditative and exhilarating nature of the act of painting."

Alexandre Marciano is also exhibiting Les Illusions in The Spring Auction.
